Some of the most important changes you can make to your life can be done in the first 30 minutes of your day!
Here is a 3 step ritual to get your morning started on the right foot!
1. Drink 500 ML of Water on an Empty Stomach
This has become almost automatic for me in the morning. The main reason for drinking water first thing is to get your digestive process started prior to any food being consumed. It also gets you a head start on your daily water consumption goal!
2. Exercise 10-20 minutes
For those of you new to exercising this could be your only workout of the day. For me this is purely an early morning metabolism booster as well as prepping my body for nutrient absorption. I have a big breakfast with most of my carbohydrates so I want my body ready to use these calories. Another bonus is the energy it will give you to start your day. If you have a cardio machine, 10-20 minutes of low intensity intervals such as 1 min easy, 1 min moderate will do the trick. If you don’t have any cardio equipment a short body weight circuit of squats, lunges, push ups, jumping jacks/ burpees and some form of crunches will do the trick! If you feel up to it combine the two if you are able.
3. Eat a High Protein Breakfast
With all the buzz words in fitness, eating a high protein breakfast is a legitimate tool. Your body is literally craving protein after a long night of no nutrients. As an added bonus the protein will help level off your insulin spike and make your body work a little harder to use the calories.
For me a protein smoothie is a quick and nutritious way to start my day. It can be prepared the night before and I can get my 30 grams of protein in. Protein pancakes and eggs/egg whites are a great way to go as well!
Even the busiest of you can spare 30 minutes first thing in the morning to make your day better and body healthier!
I always spent my half an hour to read this web site’s posts daily along with a cup of coffee.
